Long live grandma’!

Long live grandma’! - Lucille Quigley

I have been trying for almost a month now to find the time and prepare some herbal home remedies that I could use for my pain. Whenever I plan to stay home during the week-end, something comes up and I have to change my plans. Looks like I am postponing everything these days: meeting my friends, going to church, taking care of my health, etc.

My work is so demanding and I feel I am getting closer and closer to a burnout. I am waking up at 5 A.M. each morning and by 6:30 A.M. I leave the house. I do my half an hour workout in the morning, then I have my breakfast.  I work around ten hours per day. When I get home, all I want to do is crash on my bed and sleep.

Unfortunately that is not possible. There is always something to do around the house. I have to prepare the meals for the whole week, do the laundry, clean up after the kids, you name it. Luckily I don’t have to sit and do homework with them. I would have neither the energy nor the patience for it.

My mother does a far better job than us when it comes to homework’s or school projects. She is a retired English teacher who managed to keep the same passion for her profession despite the years that passed. My kids prefer doing all their school work with her, and we are totally fine with that.

Grandmothers are supposed to be involved their grandchildren’s’ lives and education. She does a fantastic job and we are forever grateful for her help. Thanks to her, our children are having good results in school. Also it saves us the time, effort and money. If we would not have her around, we would need to hire someone else. We all know how difficult it is to find someone trustworthy and reliable.

This afternoon she had a dental appointment and I had to leave work earlier in order to go pick up the kids from schools. Thank God she called and reminded me I had to be at school at 3 P.M. It totally slipped my mind. I left the office in such a hurry that I forgot to ship the satadom power cable to one of our clients. I had the box prepared on my desk, waiting to be shipped.

I am such a mess! I need some time off because I am all over the place.
